Be aware of your eating habits

In our daily lives it seems almost impossible to go to shop or just to take a walk without seeing something really delicious to eat. There are different temptations every where all the time. If you have a sweet tooth like many have, it is many times really hard to say no to those candies and such. Other enemy is surprisingly is time, as we are in hurry we eat something fast and usually not that healthy. It doesn’t mean that all fast foods are bad, but many of them are. Think about what you eat in a hurry. Another thing is that it is always too easy to decide to start losing weight tomorrow, there always will be a tomorrow. Start it today!

One way to get a good grip on what you really are eating is to keep a food diary. Write into the diary what you really eat during the day. Many times, just writing down what you eat will start to drive your eating habits into the right, healthier, direction. After a week or two you most likely have started to be more aware of your eating decisions and start to think about what you are eating. After six months of the change in your eating habits, again keep an eating diary to see what eating habits you have been able to change.

Take in consideration nibbles and other meals. When you think that replacing a good meal with a bread with stuffing is a good idea, you are wrong. Depending a bit on the type of bread you are eating, but there actually might be even more calories in that bread of yours than there is on a good meal. When you use that food diary, you’ll notice what and how much you actually are eating. If it is possible, write down the calories your meals and snacks have in them.

Some of us eat for different feelings. not just for hunger. Think about the reasons for your eating. Try to avoid any other reason than hunger or just the time for eating. Eat 6 times a day and you will not even get hunger, even if your meal sizes aren’t big.
