Why my weight goes up and down?

Question:

When should I measure my weight, on the morning or in the evening? What is the “real” weight?

Answer:

Many of us may have cheated a bit ourselves by measuring weight at the morning, usually then you weight the least. To get an exact view on how much you really weigh you should measure the weight every day at the same time at the same kind of conditions. Then the consecutive measurements give you a realistic view to your weight and to what direction it is going.

You should use a reliable scale with digital panel, this way you get the most accurate measurements. A good moment to do a weigh-in could be on the morning after you visit bathroom and before you eat your breakfast. This way you get your “lightest” weight. There still might be over 1lbs of fluctuation in your consecutive weight measurements, which is mainly a result of the fluid balance fluctuations between days. For example, if you eat salty foods they gather liquids to your body, which results as a weight gain.

To get a reliable view of your weight development you should measure at least once a week at the same time, from this information it is easy to make a small table where you can see the trend your weight is following.
