Fat gathers around my stomach, what can I do?

Question:

I’m 28-year old woman, I’m slim 6,8 in height and 140lbs in weight, but my fat percentage is relatively high 30. There is a layer of excess fat especially around my stomach. I eat relatively healthy foods, vegetables, fruits, soft fats and wholemeal. I exercise by doing about an hour of walking four times a week. What would you suggest to get my fat values lower.

Answer:

First of all, this is a common problem for many. The main thing you could try is to divide the amount of food you are eating to five to six different meals, so that there is about three hours in between the meals. This way you’ll get your metabolism in use much more evenly, which is beneficial when talking about burning fat. Your meals change to smaller, but you can still go on without feeling more tired, this is a result of the blood sugar levels keeping more stable.

When thinking about eating, important thing is to have a source for proteins in every meal. Good examples of sources for proteins are low-fat milk products, meat, chicken, egg white and fish. You should remember that also a snack or a fitness or recovery drink is considered as a meal.

Before going to sleep, someone who is keeping an eye on their weight should avoid of any intaking too much of carbohydrates,  sugars. Eating candy or similar products before going to bed will result as a fat around your belly in no time.

When you are walking, you could try to do something differently to get more out of your walks. Maybe you could try jogging a bit or walking stairs, just to get your heart rate up. Maybe you could try nordic walking, that is walking with poles.
