Your back consists of three main muscles, latissimus dorsi (middle back ), rhomboids and erector spinae (lower back). These muscles with other smaller supporting back muscles are a key figure when you are moving your body around. So It is a good idea to keep your back muscles in good shape. Middle back or rhomboids are muscles located a few inches down from the neck, they are between the spine and shoulder blades. The main task for middle back is to retract, elevate and rotate your shoulder blades, this motion helps in variety of pulling functions like when starting a lawn mower.
