About Hamstrings
Hamstring refers to muscles on the backside of your thigh above the knee. The hamstrings consist of three main muscles: biceps femoris, semimembranosus and semitendinosus. The main function for your hamstrings is the generate power to flex your leg and to facilitate medial and lateral rotation. Hamstrings are important in activities like walking, running and jumping.
About exercising hamstrings
Always when you start to exercise, you should warm-up. This is especially the case with hamstring, pulled hamstring isn't a nice thing to get and can be avoided with good warm-up.
